Shoot For A Cure

I'm filled with overwhelming excitement to write this blog entry.  On August 15th I held a women's shoot day to support my 60km walk in The Weekend to End Women's Cancers.  I had a wonderful response to it and was able to raise $950 towards my goal of $2000.  It was a great way to raise money, but it was also my way of celebrating the important relationships that women provide.  Grandmothers, Mothers, Daughters, Sisters, Nieces & Friends.  I had every form of relationship to shoot and when the day was over, although completely exhausted, I had a renewed energy to fuel my 60km walk.  I witnessed friendships that had blossomed from childhood to womenhood.  I watched as sisters laughed with eachother like they did when they were kids. I witnessed a tiny Grand Daughter sit on the lap of her Great Grandmother bringing a smile that would mealt anyone's heart.  I captured a soon to be Mother in all her glowing happiness at the upcoming arrival of her baby.  It's because of these moments in life that I am proud to be walking in The Weekend to End Women's Cancers.
